Default whats the light mean ?

I got a check engine light just a minute ago. I installed my boost gauge just the other day so i am thinking it has to do with that, but i drove 30min home, all around the afternoon and today with no problem. 36hours later i get a check engine light ? One thing that concerns me is that when i turn my light on my boost gauge flickers and then the light goes off, exact thing every time. I am thinking i have the wire loose, but would that turn a check engine light ?
any suggestions?

It can if the voltage from the wire messes up whatever you tapped into. Check the wiring and scan for the codes.

If it's a VDO the blubs go bad like 30 seconds.

I got the code.. it was PO118. I think he said something like cooling senor or something. I am guessing it just threw a random code after i did the gauge install ?

Or it could be your coolant sensor. If you still have the Original 'BLACK" Sensor change it to the new improved GREEN Sensor. The Black ones are known to fail.
