Default what's the noise after I shut it off?

just got an 02' tt coupe. The owner said they have an oil recirculating pump for the turbo that runs after the car's shut off. I'm familiar with other's having the water radiator fan run after shutting off. what's the little pump/ fan sound I hear after shutting it off? The first time home it ran for at least 5 or more minutes. I ran it for about a minute when it was cold and it ran for several minutes. Last night after driving it, I idled for 30 seconds, shut it off and it didn't run at all.

I believe it may be the aux water pump, keeps the water circulating until car cools down a little

If you have the 225 you have an after run pump that circulates coolant through the turbo.

Does this mean that letting the engine run after hard driving is not necessary? I have always been told to let the engine run to keep the oil moving. Maybe this is a different situation.

Thoughts?

It's a coolant circulating pump and on the 225 you don't have to leave the car running like you do on the 180's. It will run anywhere from 2-10 minutes, and sometimes the fans will too.

that doesn't mean its a good idea to shut the car off right after driving it hard. It only takes a couple of minutes of easy driving to let everything cool a bit before you shut it off. That goes for any car.
