Good to hear your tune turned out ok. I felt bad for 01Afour when his didn't turn out well.

but i trust Patty knows what he's talking about. maybe Audi installed it that way so they have to be replaced more often lol
On the diaphragm valves we specify boost entering the bottom to prevent lateral loading as much as possible. With boost entering the side port the forces acting on the diaphragm aren't distributed evenly which can result in the diaphragm and its reinforcing cup twisting slightly, over time this can lead to the diaphragm tearing.

Regardless if the pressure enters the side or the bottom port boost will still lift the valve open. Although the surface area on the diaphragm valves, especially the OEM, is much less. I think VAG wants the valves the way they specify so they can use a slightly softer spring due to the decrease in force acting on the valve. Partially to prolong diaphragm life (at the expense of boost holding capacity) but also to slow down transient response of the valve to smooth out driveabilty.

My 2 cents...

Thanks Chaos. Damn I wish I had seen that sooner. Must be a once in a blue moon thing. Well I will just keep my eye out on it.

01afour.....so they chipped it with a lame mode chip?....or did they just forget to chip it all together?...can they put it back to factory?

update- first gear pulls one fu<k of alot harder, I didn't think she had it in her

yeasterday i had my girl in the car and the second she put her seatbelt on I did like a 2.5k drop and she flew back in her seat...lol

she said it hurt her neck, so, for any of you doubting this chip, don't, it's very satisfying

besides that, I have a better feeling for the chip now, basically it drives just like stock until you are at just bout WOT, and then it's like a 25 shot of nitrous...the kick isn't all that big, but you can definately tell that you have a turbo!...with the stock settings, the Ko3 is hardly detectable, now it seems to be very much alive

well, good stuff, this could be stickied as a diverter valve direction thread....lol

it's freakin awesome...

I have alot more power, it is pretty smooth

I am confident that speed tuning can keep up with GIAC/APR

I have put 7 thousand miles on my car since having it chipped and it has been nothing short of flawless

I haven't had a single code, or any hiccups for that matter

the added power is super rewarding, especially when you only pay 130$

I am glad that I did not blow 500 bux on a chip...mainly because my future plans are for a tapp tune and a T3S60

hope that helps....

Speedtuning FTW!!

Have had mine since mid-Dec and no problems at all. Boosts to 20-21psi and holds at 16-17psi, For the money you can't go wrong, however if your plans include BT you may want GIAC as the BT reflash is discounted ifyou already have tuning from them. And as Quattro said the car still retains its drivability but has the extra oomph when you want/need it.
