02 avant for ~30k?
I would always rather share stuff with the people in my sections. Plus this would prob get flamed in the S section of the forum.
I check fourtitude classified all the time just to see whats up, and found this
Fourtitude.com - 02' Audi S4 Avant - Tasteful mods... $29,000
Read the whole thing. People are actually serious about that car. There is even another link in the thread for a white avant s4 for 40k!
I dont give a **** WHAT sort of car it is ( barring super cars ) a car that is 10 years old with 80k miles should not be anywhere near what these people pay for it. This ties into the post about car value and addons. This seller said he has about 20K in mods alone.
Am i crazy? Or some enthusiasts REALLY crazy?
Excuse me if anyone on here posts on that forum and is offended by my post here.

Some people buy paintings to hang on walls, some people buy cars to modify and store in a garage. Whatever works for you if you've got the coin.
Personally, I couldn't drive something that nice. I'd be afraid to have people breathe on it wrong. My wife chuckles at me as it is because I park in the back of a deserted parking lot so that I reduce the chances of getting a door ding.
I like my car to look good and be clean, but those people are way beyond obsession territory in my book.

Meh, honestly not impressed. Yes it's very nice. Yes it appears to be a quality build. But it's only worth what a buyer will pay - used car value ultimately is determined by the buyer, not the seller. Plus, I'd take a sedan over an avant. Avants are nice, but not my style. I do think the guy is batshit thinking the mods automatically raise the value. They potentially raise it...if the right buyer is in the market. If not...
Overall, nice car but no thanks. For that money, I'd take an RS6 hands down.

I wouldn't pay that much for it, but I've followed that build in the Avants Only section on the Zine and its a gorgeous car. The guy spared no expense on a single part. All of the body panels are OEM RS4 pieces from the motherland and all the work was done professionally. Its not Imola, that yellow is from a Porsche, GT3 I believe.
The other thing to remember is this: From what I've read about that guy, he's not selling that car because he needs the money. If he put it on Craigslist for half that it would sell in 6 hours. He's bored with it and wants to get into another project, so he's trying to sell this one. I guarantee there's somebody, someplace who will want to pay the asking price for this, and probably also to have it shipped to...wherever.
So, OP, to answer your question: Yes, some enthusiasts really ARE this enthusiastic lol

that car is worth those 30k, many people will disagree. There are not many b5 rs4s so a fully built wb s4 is about as close as you can get. Plus the body parts/and labor are worth those 30k. Rs4 panals can be between 15-20k in parts plus getting the mounted painted its not cheap...
and the car has been sold already hes in the process of picking up another car which is suppose to be the first in the states... so well have to wait and see

Doesnt matter how much the guy has in the car it has how many miles again??? yeah good luck with that maby if its was 40,000 or less millage it might be worth it its not a Ferrari its a Audi most used s4's were selling in the 5000-8000 range
The guy in Colorado with his and hers rs4's was selling his REAL rs4 w/ 40k or less(iirc) for 30k and was having issues getting the money. Very nice, but wouldn't pay 30k. As Jeremy said I'd rather have an rs6 as well. But I'd rather have the euro avant version. And I'd like a 6mt as well. Cook get on that for me.
