1.8t heated seats
Hi I just bought an a4 and with the winter coming up im really looking forwaed the heated seats but unfortunately they dont seem to work or are just give VERY LITTLE heat. Can you tell me what might be wrong? I already tried replacing the fuse (#44) but that didn't help it did not want to go back in the spot all the wasy maybe 1 mm sticking out. So thanks in advence.
It's most likely that they were damaged by the previous owner. I haven't heard of anyone's heating elements dying on them (I'm sure it's possible but it's apparently pretty uncommon). Kneeling on the seat to reach in and get something is all it'd take to break the wires and ruin the heater.
Yeah the heating element used in our cars and Passats are pretty well known to crap out eventualy. For some reason VW issued a recall on these, but not Audi
You can get the "element rebuild kit" at the dealer, which is basicaly a couple wires and terminals that you splice in. It's pretty easy to take the seat out and fold back the leather. Some people get little or no heat when it craps out, and for other people like myself it will set your *** and seat on fire on the lowest setting.

Thanks for your help guys. I have two more problems with my a4 for that i would really appriciate your feed back. The first time I moved my armrest up and out of the way of the cup holders it didnt want to go back down? MY second problem is that for some reason I have The "breake" "ABS" and "Air Bag" lights on the previous owner said that it lit up because when the cluth was replaced the mechanic didnt unplug the battery before pulling out the sensors to take the engine (because its a quattro) out but I dont really belive that? Sorry for all my questions but I just bought my Audi and I want it to be like it just came out of the factory
thanks fo the help

are all the lights steady? the airbag light being on would be from the battery getting disconnected. If the ABS light is steady and the Brake light is flashing then you might have a bad ABS control module.
As for the armrest - i'm not sure try taking it apart and seeing whats blocking it? maybe a quarter fell down there who knows

My heat works,(thank god)rather well,so i welcome the winter cold with my heated seats and welcome the winter snow with my quad

I'm sure those lights can be cleared with a vag-com cable.
yes the abs is steady and the brake is flashing. And I did try pushing the button but it doesnt help I am going to try to take it apart but Im not sure how to take the plastics off? And once again thanks for your help.
Yea your rite I need a new or rebuild abs module and I went to the dealer to see how muxh they want for anew one and its 14000!!! so im gonna look fo a used one. I was going to say...
I didn't think my heated seats worked when I bought the car because for some reason I expected heat IMMEDIATELY after turning them on.
Months and months later, leaving my ex gf's house in the dead of winter, I decided to leave them on for ***** and gigs. A couple minutes later my *** was on fire and I had the dopiest grin on my face the whole ride home.
Glad to hear it was just your impatience keeping them from working.
