Will the 18" Avus S4 wheel wirth 235/40/18 tires fit an 01 A4 with stock suspension or will I need spacers or anything extra?

 

Should fit just fine.

I bought a set a couple years ago with 245's and they didnt fit.

 

I was worried about the front but the rear has the smallest of gaps but this is what i have so far

 

If i used H&R Race Springs with these wheels would it cause the tires to rub the control arms? It's a bit more aggressive than I would normally go but I found a unopened set on craigslist at a good price.

I'm running Neuspeed Race springs on my car and its a tad bouncy. If you're already close to having rubbing issues I can only assume lowering the car more will make it worse. You could always pick up the springs and a set of spacers to have on hand just in case. If you don't need them you can just return them.
