hello all!

now, before people start complaining ill list everything thats going on.

problem:
engine CEL light is on, the error code when checked says Engine misfire cyl 2.

ok fine, I have changed the spark plug and wires and changed the coil pack. this is the single coil pack as the 2.8 doesnt have individual coil packs unless you modified it.

Now, Im assuming the ECU resets after a period of time, because when i started the car after replacing all of the mentioned above, the CEL light is gone.
Now the car idles fine and what not, but you can still here a slight misfire. then once the car is heated up, the CEL Pops back on and the misfire sounds are more noticeable.

the only part i haven't replaced yet is the Ignition control Module.

I have a new that was bought for the car but never installed. hopefully that's the issue.

However, i checked the oil and there was a faint smell of gas in the oil. So i dont think its an injector issue, but i could be wrong.


Please let me know if there are other sensors/ things that could make it throw a cel for misfire. Im new to the audi car experience.

 

also i notice that the CEL doesnt flash until the car enters its closed loop mode. and the coolent sensor doesnt work. could that do something to it?
