My car recently developed this knocking noise and i assumed it was one of the pulleys so my mechanic replaced all the pulleys misc belts...timing belt etc. To make a long story short the noise is still there...The car still drives beautiful no rough idling the cars performance is great. Now i posted up a video of my car and the noise can someone help me out.

PS my mechanic said it might possibly be the lifters? but who knows =T

I had this exact same noise on my Mitsubishi that turned out to be the timing belt. It had skipped a tooth and the valvetrain was clanking. When was the last time the t-belt service was done?

 

The timing belt was done two weeks ago! possibly needs an adjustment???

 

Its odd cause after the second video i posted (first noise issue) the noise went away after a week...( i drive 80 plus miles a day back and forth from home). So yesterday the knocking noise came back (the first video i posted is the current noise). I used Lucas oil stablelizer and mixed it with the oil the sound comes off and on.
