1996 vs newer B5 Transmission
Hi,
I have a B5 from 1996 and I had to change the transmission which went completely out. Couldn't even turn the wheels at all. This new transmission is also bad. It seems as if the solenoid valve is bad between a couple of gears and I am returning this (I got this info from a mechanic in the area that is very good with Audis) and he suggested I get a 1997 transmission since it does not have the problems that the 96's are known for. My question to all of you is if it's correct what I was told. I just don't know enough myself.
Also if it's not, then what year transmission is best for my car.
My transmission code is CJP.
Thank you,
pavlindrom
