Clocks? Codes? What are you talking about?

Are you referring to the radio?

im talking about the clocks. when i put the clocks in the car it wont start. the clocks work fine but the car wont tick over. the light lights up which shows a pic of a car with a spanner. so there for i am thinking the clocks must have the previous key code in them. so i need to remove the code and match the clocks with my key correct??

By your english I'm guessing you have a euro a4, which have immobilizers. You'll have to get your cluster recoded at a dealership or audi/vw specialist.

lol this thread is funny . Sorry about us yanks, OP. Mad Cow up ^here^ is right, you're going to have to get the immobilizer either disabled or re-coded. I'm not sure how the local laws work with that where you are, but you might check into it before you try anything.

Although when you think about it "clocks" makes sense. Gauges kinda look like clocks, and there's more than one so it's plural.
