Default 1999 Audi A4 2.8 v6 1545 17953 Code

I know there are a thousand posts about this code and this car, but please read before responding.

So long story short, i bought the car from an old buddy. It had been sitting for a year or two. When i bought it he had said something like it may need a coil or a MAF sensor. So i bought both and threw them in, still getting a rough idle and car seems like its hitting rev limiter around 1400-1500 RPMS. So i went and got a generic Scan tool, just to see what the codes were, and i only got a P1545, " Throttle Body Valve Malfunction" I read up on some forums were saying the Throttle body was bad, bought a tb. Still same result. Then i was like well maybe its because i have a cheap scanner.. I have my buddy come by with a "ROSS-TECH" Cable Vag-com set up. We get an 'ERROR' when trying to re-align the throttle body. So then i did a little more reading up, everyone was saying the ECU was probably on the way out. Ordered a ECU, with thee exact numbers, and letters. And still same exact result. But when I clear the code it'll rev up for a second then throw a light for the exact thing.

When i bought the car, i know it needed a few things, So this is what i have replaced so far.. Battery, ECU, Throttle body, Mass Air flow Assembly, Plugs, Wires, coil, and valve cover gaskets.

The car doesn't have an exhaust after the flex pipes, the 02's are gone from "bank 2" or after the cat, but from my understanding those aren't really for your air - fuel. They are more to see if the CAT is doing its job, if I am wrong please correct me.

Any Ideas, or tricks are greatly Appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan.

How's everything from the air to the cylinders? i.e. hows the intake, vacuum system, fuel pressure, etc.? It sounds like you've got everything in the spark-family replaced so it may not be that (but still could be).

Throttle body sounds like a good place to start for sure and so does using vcds. I would attempt with that more. See if you can't get it working.

I didn't know if you checked the injectors. I had a rough idle which sputtered on accelerating. It was one of the injectors. If it turns out to be the case I bought mine from here.. southbayfuelinjectors on eBay No problems with them. Also I have a 1997 Audi A4 2.8L V6 5spd FWD
