2000 a4 1.8 quattro no 2-3 shift

i have no 2-3 upshift. i have checked fluid level and it was ok but fluid was dark. seems like it does one time after start up but kicks out right after back two second any help would be great. thanks guys

no noises at all car runs great and drives fine up till third gear since it doesn't shift

Our cars are notorious for having weak 3rd gears. Is yours a 5 speed?
