Default 2000 A4 1.8T Coolant plastic tank leaking

I have noticed that i keep losing coolant and when i look at the coolant plastic tank there are no cracks that i see (replaced about 10k miles ago) but i notice it has 3 spots for hoses but only 2 hoses, the one without a hose is the one closest to the driver on the bottom and its part of the little overflow reservoir, should there be a hose attached that recirculates the coolant back into the car? cant imagine its just suppose to poor all over the ground like it is now

It actually is supposed to just overflow onto the ground. The two outlets with hoses attached go to the radiator. They allow for expansion (hence the name) when the coolant gets hot. The third opening you referenced doesn't come into play unless the expansion tank is over-filled, in which case you WANT the extra coolant out of the system to prevent excess pressure and possible leaks as a result.

Any leaks from the cooling system will usually show themselves as pink or white crust around the source of the leak. Pretty easy to spot.

yeah I see a decent amount of fluid that leaks onto the oil filter, just seems like im loosing coolant way faster then I should

are you seeing any oil in the coolant or vice versa? the inlet/outlet on the oil cooler, the radiator hoses, and the outlets on the coolant tank are common places for leaks because people like to re-use the single-use clamps
