Default 2000 A4 quattro not turning over

Hey guys, I have a problem. I have a 2000 A4 Quattro Auto 4 cyl. turbo 1.8 that won't start. Battery is fine (radio, lights, etc work) it just won't turn over. Need help diagnosing. If it's the starter does anyone have a diagram to find it (Kinda of new to the whole FIY type stuff)Was driving the car for awhile and then it just won't start now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well does the starter sound funny, do you mean the starter isnt even engaging or is the engine not firing?

Not turning over at all could be starter, solenoid or could still be battery. For example if you have a bad cell it would work fine for low amp things such as lights and radio but when requiring a lot of amperage would fall short. Load test the battery. Do you hear any sounds when trying to start it?

Just click like the battery was dead. Going to go down and still have it tested though. Also do you know where the starter is? Need a good reference point. Thanks!!!

Not sure what to listen for. Like I said I'm new to the fix it yourself stuff, but I can fix stuff if I can find it lol. The only thing I hear is a click. The same thing as if your battery is dead.

Well id just try charging the battery or jumping it, your battery might be on its way out (even though your lights and stuff work, starters draw tons of power, its common for lights to still work but for a starter to not start the car). Not sure where the starter is but that would be the last thing I would go pulling out for right now, until you have diagnosed the battery for certain.

http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page...es/clutch.html well this write-up for a clutch install shows where the starter is located.. im not really aware of any writeups for the starter. I guess starter would be next on my list then if jumping it didnt work. You can try hitting the starter with a hammer and it can sometimes make them work a little longer while you get the replacement and such, if that happens to make it work too then you know it is for sure the starter.
