30v head swap?
Just my opinion obviously, but it will probably not at all be worth the time/effort/money for any potential gains you get. Even if the heads do bolt up to the block (and that's a big IF), you'll most likely need to also change to the 30v intake, fuel rails, egr valve, exhaust manifolds, and front engine cover/pulley tensioners, ect. It's all going to be different and have different mounting locations because the DOHC head is much much wider than a SOHC head. It really isn't worth the hassle.
And I really don't mean to be rude here, I'm just trying to be practical and help. But I saw this thread. https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...=138422&page=2 If you're having trouble swapping speakers do you have the mechanical experience to take on this sort of project? I'll go ahead and say right now that I don't know you or your mechanical background, I'm just going off that thread. So if I've offended you I'm sorry. Nevertheless, I think that would be a huge project and I think it would just be easier in the long run to get a different car if you're hellbent on getting better gas mileage/ performance.

not hellbent... i jsut figured a guy selling the ENTIRE head from his 30v plus ecu for 150 bux was a good thing to look into lol... and im not too keen on wiring so as far as the speakers thing umm not so much lol... i can install stereos lol... i jsut dont do speakers or subs or amps... but ill read that thing u gave the link too
most definitely will not work. you have 12 valves, we have 30 valves. that right there will screw up your whole car. don't even think about anything else yet lol. i mean the intake mani is different. the engine themselves may even be in different angles between the heads which means the intake mani wouldn't even fit. you really need to find a set of 12v heads from an audi. don't forget the VR6 is an inline engine so those heads won't work even though it is a dub engine and it's 12v
The 30V cylinder head will physically bolt to your 12V block.
Will it all work together? The answer's no.
The 30V pistons have valve reliefs machined into the crowns, the 12V pistons don't, which means the valves and pistons will shake hands, not good.
The intake plenum is different between 12 and 30V, and not compatible. The 30V may be a 90 degree config, like the 12V, but the 30V heads are much larger, so exhaust manifolds are different between the 2 engines.
Injector rails are different, ignition system is different, ECU and harness are different, catalysts / front pipes are different, oil pumps are different.
It would probably make more sense to install the complete 30V engine, ECU, harness, catalysts etc, but as I'm not one for reinventing the wheel, I'd say it would be a pointless exercise.

You don't really NEED a PES supercharger if you want to go F/I. Somebody5788 is building a F/I setup using an Eaton M92 he got for free. The PES system uses an M62. You could also build a procharger set-up if you wanted as well. Take what you can get and tell PES to **** itself. 5 grand for 100 horse isn't worth the money.
