I learned something about these specific platforms today that is making me love audi even more It appears that the bellhousing bolt pattern is the same for the 2.7 and 2.8. To confirm this I did a little bit of research and they do indeed appear to be almost the same block. However, I'm going to need to get a new rear diff (after I spent all that time getting the drain and fill plugs out -_-) so the final drive ratio is correct. 4.11 I think? I'm assuming I'm going to need a different drive shaft too.

I've got some bad news. I will be taking a break from working on everything for a week or two as I need to take care of some health issues. I will still be available through PM.

The block is out for machining. Got the heads magnafluxed too. They were in excellent shape and now have the new valves, guides and springs and all that other **** assembled.

Glad to hear you're back at it, everything alright? Also regarding your comment in post #21, i believe the 2.7T block starts its life as a 2.8 block which is then sleeved to handle the extra boost/HP. Keep the updates coming!

Yes its real. What kinda question is that? I dont have a digi anymore because of young car hopping hooligans. Gave me a reason to replace the glass and tint it all. Money is tight right now too since im still a college student.

But anyways, I ordered a complete Meyle control arm kit, new wheel bearings for the rear and H&R Sport springs. Thats about all the time I have to do right now since school is just starting, and it needs to be done before I get anything else finished. All the bushings are worn and creaky, ball joints are toast, tie rods & sway links are fucked. I'm just waiting for the package so I can do it all and have it drive tighter than a nun's ....

If pics mean its real then have the ECS order screencap. Oh I'' get a new digi soon too. XScargo ftw

Oh and when I get the block back I will have pics of pistons, rods, crank bearings and caps going in in detail.

Easy up, turbo. It's the kinda question that is a legitimate one. You misinterpreted my request. I'm not saying "prove it with pics." I already told you that we've seen similar threads 10 times before, so if you are following through as you say and as we hope, pics of the process would be next to sex. That is all.

Thanks man. Yeah I'm alright! Just gotta play the cards im dealt, like everybody else. About the block, that's what I figured. I was going to get the 2.8 12v sleeved because of the cross flow setup but I think the 30v will breathe better regardless. Thanks for the info. Now I know what may be compatible.

Sorry I didn't mean to be standoffish. Everyone on bimmerforum can be very critical and the OCforums people breathe down your neck about pics. I will be gettin a new digi soon, but you can have pics AND me in a birthday suit Maybe ill call up the tranny specialist to join

Seriously, he is good at what he does. God knows all of the Ford transmissions I went through on my 5.0 HO.

Im contemplating a twincharged setup as the m62 doesn't really put out the boost I'm looking for. All the engine internals are for high HP applications so I might as well use it. I might pawn off the k03's that came with the motor and grab a single k04 but probably a gt28r.

I'm just unsure if I want to deal with the bullshit of a twincharger setup but booooooy would it be schweet. Schweeter than the new super nintendo gaming system I just bought.
