any body know how to fix the cup holders? i'm assuming they used to spring up. now i have to pull them. also my ashtray doesnt come out. it there a way to fix those? or replace them with OEM or aftermarket parts?

Alot of people have been complaining espeically about the ashtray. Looks to be a design flaw, go with aftermarket products.

You have to remove the dash area around the cup holders. Hopefully the spring just came off or you may have to replace the whole cupholder assembly.

get the passat cupholders from clairparts.com, they're MUCH better. the stock cupholders are worthless. search the forum for 'stuck ashtray' and you'll see how to take care of that
