Default 97 A4 1.8T quattro clutch type???

Hey guys

I was in at my mechanics today regarding my clutch and was told i need a new one. He said he'd need to check what type of clutch it is, and that a "dual ____ (insert second word here) clutch would cost about 2k and some other one would cost about $1300.

Can someone please help me out and let me know what type of clutch my car is likely to have, and what are the types

Thanks in advance

Regards. Mitchell

"Dual ____" was likely referring to the flywheel which is a dual mass (heavy and prone to failure). As for pricing I don't know as I've never seen a dual mass setup go for that much.

Probably what PapaDios said, but theres always the chance he is talking about a twin-disc or dual-disc setup, which your car definitly doesnt have and doesnt need. I'd shop around and supply your own parts, just pay him for labor.
