I don't want to be arguing about this no more, I have my opinion on this and people have theirs and well I have to respect that. My opinion HID's on stock headlights are not blinding from personal experience. They may be more variables to look at other then headlight housing like the HID used (brand etc) but I'm certain my headlights did not cause blinding.
You have an opinion, I have facts. For all you know your lights could've been pointed down, or the reflective coating could've been burnt off. I'm just letting anybody reading this thread know that you need D2S projectors to do it properly. All you're doing is giving me one piece of anecdotal evidence, and I'm telling you the technical reasons behind why you shouldn't do that.

But anyway, I personally wouldn't use anything but a 4300k kit with proper non-Chinese parts in D2S projectors, but I seem to be the minority here in a sea of $40 blue-*** HID kits that that fry in half a year.

Default Agreed

I agree with Mad Cow on this one...You "may" be able to use the existing H7 projectors but the HID cutoff shields should most definitely be used....I think we've gotten of track though...

OP: Are you still having issues or have you got them to fire up yet?

You can't simply swap out the shields for the halogen and HID projectors. The reflector bowl design is fundamentally different. Best to just swap in a set of real projectors as myself and others have done.

That's exactly what I did. Although one of my d2s bowls is a bit on the burnt side. Thinking of the morimoto swap but they'll do for now.

This, the bowl itself is different because of the different focal point, and the lenses are designed to diffuse light, the shields are probably the parts that are closest between D2S and H7 housings. I lucked out and found a pair of D2S housings with bulbs and ballasts with only one broken tab for $40, one of the best thing I've done to this car.
