well the bose still does a great job on the highs... it's just a 'softer' tweater... it doesnt sound as fake -- something both the JL's and the alpines can do.

A soft tweater isn't capable of going so high... but it is... lol, softer... more natural sounding.

clconversion was in my car today, I turned it up for him... I'm sure he can vouch for it... he heard the car before, too, with the alpines.

I was at my stereo shop again today (my neighbor owns it) and we were shooting the **** about this... he wouldnt say the JL's are better -- only that they are 'different'

he said my car sounds better than his, more 'pleasant'... and he's got XR's throughout his car, and 2 W7's.... and about 4000 watts of memphis power -- his car sounds good... but its a bass monster.

 

well, i finally got to opening up my doors and this is what i found:

the front doors consisted of: 4" mids, 2", and tweeters

back door: 6.5" speakers

trunk: 6.5" speakers

So now, i have to find 4" components and change my trunk speakers. I found a 4 channel kenwood amp that pushes 75w RMS, so i think that will be sufficient enough for the speakers. In the trunk i have RF bd500.1 connected to 12" Alpine Type-R at 2ohms.

 

All my bose speakers are for sale, as well as my alpine type-x's!

I also have an alpine 4 chan amp for sale -- one of the channels has a cold solder I think though... it seems to cut out at low volumes.
