Default A4 Tire Sizes

Hello...

New member here...

I have a 1998 A4 1.8T Not Quattro.

I have the standard 15 inch rims on all 4 axles. I know the stock tire size is 195 65 15.

My question is, has anyone changed tire sizes on their stock rims and what are they? What issues have you had if any? Rubbing? Irregular axle wear? Bearings?

Can I put a fatter tire on the back and still not run into any issues?

I was thinking, 195 65 15 on the front and perhaps a 195 60 15 or 195 55 15 on the back. Has anyone changed the first number? 205? 215?

Any replies will greatly be appreciated !

Unless I'm misinformed, stock tire size was 205/60 for 15" wheels

1998 Audi A4 has the specs. Not sure how running multiple width tires would affect your differential.

I have a similar question, i have stock rims on mine and it's 205/60r15 but I've been looking at some audi a6 rims that are 245/40r18 but I don't want to do any mods to the car, any advice on this??

You shouldn't have any issues running different width/diameter tires since you are FWD.

245s are too wide without spacers or low offset wheels.

Your link is the first that I have seen with that information.

When I call every place in my area they all state its 195 65 15.

I even went to BF Goodrich website and they came back with the standard 195 65 15 with a speed rating of H.

There is an optional tire size of the one you listed, but like I said, thats the first.

I am thinking about going with the 205's though.
