Default A4 Turbo advice please help!

Hi people,

I have a 2000 B5 1.8t. I want to get more power from the turbo but not sure which is the better option. I can either fit a boost controller or put a bigger turbo on it. It is the 177bhp model and being a 1.8 just how far can I go without losing to much torque.

Also how high can I boost safely on the stock engine. I am also going to put a front mount on it too. Also I want to put some nice rims on it with some sticky rubber. I want to go to 18's, it is fitted with the sports suspension kit with 16's at the moment. Can I lower it anymore or do I not need to with the sports suspension as I want it sitting low on the rims without causing any scraping issues.

Any advice will help and thanks in advance.

You realy need to search as this more than documented on here but just to put you straight on a couple of things.

You have a 170bhp stock car but when mapped could yelp around 210-220bhp from a map and new DV.

There is a thread on here regarding using a a MBC and diode to up the boost, after that you are looking at Turbo's

Hey thanks for the reply good info cheers.. I done some more research and mine is 132kw, over here in New Zealand we work on kw rather than hp and 132kw = 177hp. It states 132kw on my spec card in the manual and this was comfirmed by the Audi dealer.

Thanks
