Thanks for the offer, Jeremy. I ordered a couple from ECS yesterday though, they oughta be here today or tomorrow. Those little f*ckers are $19 each lol. Luckily my room mate is in Costa Rica all week and told me I was more than welcome to use his truck while he's gone.

btw, I've been trying to track down a clunk in the passenger's side front suspension. While things were ripped apart for this brake job I started pulling and wiggling stuff. None of the control arm bushings are obviously damaged, but the sway bar end link bushings are pretty jacked up. Sway bar end links don't clunk though do they?

CCA4,

How much did you pay for those brakes? Where do you think I could purchase a set myself? Good luck with the rest of your future automotive endeavors.

Thank you

$249 shipped from ECS tuning. Their kit includes the rotors and carriers. I also purchased new carrier bolts from them, as the carrier bolts were a huge pain when I did my back brakes. Incidentally, the OEM bolts are 17mm metric, the ECS replacements are 3/4" SAE. Same length and threads though. The pads are EBC Red Stuff. Your '01 will need the front pads with wear sensors.

Just got an email from ECS, my guide pins shipped out this morning. Barring any disasters they should be here tomorrow morning and I can finish things up tomorrow after work

no need for pad sensors. you can just splice the 2 sensor wires together from the old pads and be done with it forevar

dunzo! got those guide pins from ECS this morning, left work early and finished up the job. Still kind of hard to gauge the stopping power, the pedal is very touchy. Probably because the rotors still have zinc on them and the pads still have that EBC "brake in coating" on them. I'll give them the rest of the week before I rate them, but DEFINITELY more stopping power, thats for sure. Very pleased

shhhhh, can you hear that??? Its a round of applause!!

Congrats on the install. The next time you have to brake hard and quick you'll appreciate you installed the kit. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

I need to do this to the wife's B7, I'm so used to shorter stopping distances in my car that when I drive hers she gets scared I'm gonna plow into the car infront. I'll admit, I get a little tight in the shorts as well.
