What?

Just hope under the car, remove the 13mm bolt holding the snub brace on, remove the two 10mm bolts holding the t-stat housing in, pop out the old t-stat and o ring, put the new one in, and put it all back together. It's no big deal.

What year is your car? If it's 2000+ you may have to do it the hard way. www.audidiy.com

Could you provide any pictures of where the snub brace is located..?
since the DIY in the audidiy web site is waaayyy more complicated then that.
I have an Audi 1999.5 1.8t..
Thanks for your help in advance!!

Crawl under your car and try to remove the t-stat housing bolts. There will be a bracket blocking you from getting to one of them, that's the snub brace. You'll want to drain your coolant first too, actually.

Could you link me to the thermostat replacement DIY?

even on the newer ones 2000+ its not hard. only took me about a half hour to do everything.all you have to remove it the intake manifold to get to the housing.
