Default ABS problem

I have a ABS light on in my car and anytime when the ABS light is off, I hear a noisy sound when I press my break pedal.
Once the car has the ABS light on, then it works normally.
I wonder how much this would cost and also want to know the way to fix this problem.

Thanks

I had the same issue without getting ANY fault codes, the dealer could not communicate with the system. They stated a faulty ABS module to be the problem.

OP, pull the fuse to the ABS system until you can get the module repaired, and I guarantee that noise will go away.

Well if it won't communicate with the ABS module then you know what the problem is, pulling out my crystal ball won't help.

His issue doesnt sound like the module. But he does need the codes.
