I have a faulty abs control unit so I bought a second hand one , now with that one on I get a message on vag com of 18034 - powertrain data bus missing message from tcu p1626 35-00 -- anybody got any ideas this is on a 2.5 tdi manual audi a4 on a 1999 should this only apply to auto gearboxes ???

 

Yes, the tcu is the transmission control unit. If yours is bad I have 3-4 of them on the shelf and available. Contact me via PM for details or discussion.

Auto only - it controls the shifting. A manual "tcu" would be your left foot and right arm
