Gotcha. I'm sure that would help incrementally but in a 3500lb car, is 2-3hp gonna matter? Nope. As for 034, that's for the 30v, not the 12v.

Oh, didn't see the 12v part.

Op, if your main concern is POWA!!! (Jeremy Clarkson voice), then yeah, sell it for a 1.8t or save for a S4.

Devil, why don't you hang around Audizine? Between you and walky_talky20, it's like having the B5 engineers on the forums!

Lol just never really got into the vibe on that site. Nothing wrong with it by any means, I think I stuck here because I found this site before AZ and just planted roots lol

i just put some thermal foil thingy around my intake box to keep the heat out and cleaned my K&N filter and i feel a power difference... i think the power i have now is good enough... i raced a 1.8T the other day and won... he could barely catch up... so i think ima stick with the 2.8... im just gonna focus on maintenance for now such as valve covers and the little cam seal thing on the back of the heads... but anyways thanks everyone for your advice and opinions i appreciate it

ha you mean you beat a bone stock 1.8t because you have 20 more hp or 40 more if it was older. Def focus on maintenance so you can laugh at all the sludge issues as you drive with a solid car.

What you may be able to feel with a gauze type filter is improved throttle response. The stock airbox with paper filter will outflow the rest of the intake tract already.

The stock box already has ducting that brings in air from the front of the car. If you're going to claim that insulating the airbox made an appreciable difference in power I'd like to see some data logs of IAT at the very least. You would need to see a large change in temps to equate to any difference in power.

Just drive your car and enjoy it.

every day that you own this car is another day that you'll potentially dump money into it... if you want a car you can mod for performance, sell it now, get a 1.8, and then fix that one as it breaks and mod it. these cars break, so i wouldn't drive it around too long if you're looking for performance, because what happened is, you bought the wrong car.

alright look... you guys dont undnerstand what im trying to say... i didnt buy the wrong car... i bought a 2.8 and i was simply asking how i could get a lil more power out of it and everyone is recommending me getting a 1.8... i dont care about the 1.8 i care about the 2.8 which is why i posted this thread... if i wanted to know that 1.8 is better performance wise i woulda posted a thread like "1.8 vs 2.8" or something like that... im just trying to clear things up...

@bshusted ... you dont have to believe me that it gave me more power but i know what i know and i can feel a difference... i have a lil more power now when the car is hot than before... anything is better than nothing

There's not really much to clear up. The 12v has literally almost no hope of improving horsepower. When some one has one and is asking how to add power, the assumption is that they're looking to improve performance. With a 12v, that's accomplished through selling the car for a mod-friendly car. We're trying to prevent you from wasting money and dealing with disappointment when that injection of funds nets you nothing.

alright thank you... but im not interested in 1.8's or anything.. i mean they're cool and all with the turbos and stuff i seen some that are like 300HP+ ... i guess im just gonna focus on the exterior of my car then like lowering and what not...
