Default Adhesive for reattaching interior trim

On My daughters 2000 A4, the drivers side interior cosmetic trim piece that runs along the top of the window frame on the inside edge of the headliner is coming off. I tried a glue gun and it seemed to work just fine until a week later and then it reoccurred. What adhesive would be best and a permanent hold?

Thanks In advance mates!

Try 3M adhesive - it's what most of us use when we reskin our interiors and the stuff is great.

I used contact cement when mine started to come off last summer. I pulled it apart as much as needed as the connection was weak to begin with as the glue was separating. Cleaned both surfaces with rubbing alcohol, applied a thin coat on both sides, let it dry until tacky and carefully applied even pressure while moving my hand along the trim. Just make sure to take your time and not stretch the molding too much or this will cause the trim to minutely bunch up when you get to the end. Good luck.

Default rhohmann what trim are you referring too?

Some adhesives work in non stressed situations & others will not. Is there any type of weather related or moisture related problems? Please be specific?

This trim is inside so weather should not be relevant. I would say that the trim other than gravity has no stress on it. 3M and even contact cement will likely do. The hot glue didn't hold and will now have to be pulled out by hand. I will definately clean the surfaces well. I do see that the plactic end cap where the trim piece ends and is hidden somewhat has a slight crack in it.

Thanks to all.
