Default Aftermarket Radio - What do I need?

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and just got my first Audi - Audi A4 1.9 TDi (1999).

It still has the original chorus radio in it which of course is the first thing that i am going to replace. I have been looking at a number of head units the majority of them have ISO connectors. What is the current connection harness on this model of Audi and what do I need in order to wire up a new head unit?

Also where can I get a facia so that the new radio does not leave gaps in the console?

Cheers
Dave

Crutchfield is always a good place to start! Amazon and EBay are also good places to find adapters and whatnot. I know for a fact that Crutchfield will include everything that you need to get the radio wired up and working, everything from the isolaters and the surround to make it actually fit.

Do you have the double din, or the single din opening?

Crutchfield, with all the free mounting equipment they give you I don't think you'll find a better price unless you get a used radio from somewhere.

What radios are you looking at? If you click that link in my signature you'll see what I installed. Also one of the first things I replaced.
