Default aftermarket sound system

Hey Guys,

I have the 98.5 A4 1.8T QTR. I wanted to install an amp and a sub in my car. Was thinking of bolting the amp to the back of the rear seat and putting the sub/boxagainst the right side of the rear seat, of course facing the back of the car.Would anyone know if i can just hook up an amp to the stock audi concertsysytem or would i need to get an aftermarket deck too? Any tips and suggestions are welcomed. thanks.

you can hook it up either right in the back of the head unit, or tap into the rear speakers. Connecting at the headunit gives better sound than splicing into the rear speaker connection.

Are there preamp outs in the back of the concert sound system? Is that how you would hook right into that? I've been thinking about an amplified bazooka but don't want to mess with splicing wires, etc.

if you get it done corectly the sub shoulden't overpower the rest of the system. i haven't gone with an aftermarket radio yet because of a bad exprerence. after 1 week someone took a crowbar to my dash and took my new jvc ($350).this was in my jeep and the left it a mess heating/cooling unit riped outdash broke in half and half of my cluster didn't work. plus the stole my cdbook with around 100 cds.. insurance did not cover the loss of cds or stereo. it sucked but because of that went looking for a new car and ended up with my audi
