Default Air Intake help

Hey everybody, so i did some searching and found plenty of threads dealing with intakes and such, but never really found an answer to whats happening with mine.
So basically i got bored one day and decided to see if i could get a new filter to work with my car so i got a cone filter and took out my stock airbox. I kept the original bottom half of the housing unit just so i could still get the airflow from the little port on the left side of the grill. I know the oil from the filter could cause problems with the MAF sensor so i have been cleaning it regularly. I just attached the cone filter in the old air box housing to the stock turbo down pipe and a small filter on the end of the secondary intake hose.

i have had this set up for about a week or so and everything was running good, my car was producing a nice sound with only small amounts of flutter when i let off the gas while boosting but that's an easy fix.

however recently the check engine light popped on and i'm not sure what exactly is going wrong. I will post a few pictures of my set up and hopefully someone with more experience can tell me where i went wrong (besides replacing the stock airbox haha)

Knowing the trouble code would really help.

was there a small module with a whopping great heatsink attached to the lid of the stock air box? i dotn see it in any of the pictures. also the code would be helpfull. autozone or any other autoparts store could scan the codes for free.

Yeah I just ran to auto zone and got the code, its 90411 which deals with the secondary air intake which I put a little cone filter on but I'm guessing that's the problem

why would you put a cone right next to the exhaust manifold? that's not a cold air intake more like hot air intake.. 0_0 my guess is you just lost power rather than make power.

are you sure the code is not P0411 not 90411 ?

that second air intake is for emissions works on cold start's my guess is take that cone off put all the box and plugs back together and reset the code should be fine if not then you mess something up.

Yes its p0411 that was a typo. But yes I understand that if I keep it stock I won't have problems and that's what the (make shift) heat shield is for. I haven't seen any power loss from doing it, maybe even a tiny bit note response. I want to try and get it to work with no cel just for that accomplishment feeling. But thanks for the help

take it to a dyno and you well see how you did lose power if not you are at the same power i personally seen it with my own eyes. anyways if you want it to work just make sure that hose is plug in to the "cold air intake" you got going on there and you should be fine route it in some how and the check engine light should be gone.
