Default Air Pump lines cleaning ??

Hey guys,

Just recently i had my air pump valve starting to break apart so i taped it up for few days then now replaced it..

there are 2 metal lines that go from engine to the air pump, one of them has a valve with AVE 10 and another one is AVE 4 which is thicker one, i replaced the AVE 4 which was broken with another AVE 10 do you think that should be fine? and also when i took out that peice i can see that there is allot of gunk build up inside those metal pipes, by taking them out and cleaning them woud it improve performace? and also the round air pump had some oil inside of it when i took it out how bad is this?

thanks for any advice
