airbag light is on
Hello Guys!
this is the problem what I am facing with
A couple months back the airbag light was on also the horn was not working so I researched that the problem was the clockspring which is located right behind the steering wheel.
so I purchased the used clockspring from Shokan used audi part store and replaced the part.
after the replacement the horn is working but the airbag light is still on.
I don't know why the light is still on
does anyone know that the part is causing problem or something else?
This problem bothers me so much.
So please help me out from this bothering problem.
Thank you so much

I'm actually facing the same problem as you! I have the clock spring waiting to be installed, but do you have a good guide on how to do it?
As for the light, Im not completely sure, but you may need VAG COM to clear codes. I have a cable from Amazon that just arrived today and it works for the most part with VCDS lite, I'm on mobile right now but I'll try to find a link later.
I hope this helps!
EDIT - I ordered this one off Amazon:
Included driver disk works on Win7 Pro x64, had to let the OS try to install the driver by itself (and fail), then manually select the driver in the Device Manager and select the folder on the CD with the drivers because the installer doesn't work...
Win 7 x64 drivers are in the following directory on the DVD: [\USB-CAN,422, 232, 485, TTL\DRIVERwin7 x64\CH341SER.ZIP\DRIVER]
VCDS Lite should test successfully with the car ignition in the On position (not started) with all default settings. Some modules will not be able to work, however, the Airbags module is successful for me.

As cekren mentioned, your best bet is to purchase a vag com cable from ebay and use VCDS Lite to clear the code. If the code comes back, the usual culprit is the connector underneath the driver's seat. A little jiggling and a zip tie should help.
Sorry to hijack this thread, but could you link to the guide you followed to replace the clock spring? I am a bit hesitant to attempt this repair after reading this guide:
Clock Spring Replacement (how to instructions) - AudiWorld Forums
And having three more dash lights come on after installation haha
Thanks!
