When I lock or unlock the doors with the master key I have to be no more than 3 feet away for it too work, Is this how it is on these cars or is than an adjustment.

Ive heard holding the fob to your chin increases the distance, it seems to work when I try it but I'm still skeptical... otherwise replace the batteries and see what happens.

yeah mine does the same thing, new batteries are most likely needed.
sometimes it takes a couple pushes of the button to lock/ unlock the car.

I did when I did mine but it was pretty simple. Unlock and lock the car with the key then press the lock button a couple of times.

This actually worked for me. I have a B6 but I read this and tried it, and mine has a lot more range now when I hold it up near my head. I used to hold it down near my waste lol.

There's a better way than using your chin. Find the receiver wire and extend it or move it. Search for diy on this. They did move the receiver around for different model years.

Yeah, definitely going with the new batteries. You might also try moving the wire, as some people suggested. I find A-pillars increase the range tons if you have an antenna long enough to reach.
