Default Another pcv issue

Hey guys I have searched multiple forums and can't find the exact answer I'm looking for. I have a 2001 awm a4 yesterday I noticed smoke coming from under the hood and when I got to really looking the pcv pipe coming off the t was broken. When trying to plug it off the breather tube completely crumbled to pieces. I need a quick fix, can I just vent it to atmosphere using heater hose? If so do I need to run a bleeder valve/pcv valve on the tube coming out of the crank case? After I run that I still have a couple of vac lines I will have to cap off correct? Tomorrow is my only day off for awhile and drive 60 miles a day. Any help is much appreciated!!!

you can vent to atmosphere on both the crank breather and valve cover breather. in fact, i do that! however, you need t make sure the pancake valve is in working order (that big valve thing in your intake boot). if that is open, it will allow a ton of unmetered air into the intake. if you vent the vc and crank case to atmosphere, and you dont notice any abnormal engine syptoms, its working properly
