I had my rear glass shot out and replaced some time ago, and when i got the car back from the body shop, i lost almost all reception in the radio. There were also a couple misc black wires on the floor with some glass attached to them. Im pretty sure they are for the antenna, as i had radio all the way up until i got the car back. at the time i didnt care, i always listen to cd's or my iphone so its not really a big concern. but now im just curious and wishing i would have brought the problem to their attention at the time. so, is the antenna in the rear window? and if so am i totally fucked out of a radio or is this something i can fix at home without removing the rear window?\

there's a little blue box behind the drivers side rear pillar it has the antenna wire going in and a defroster wire going in. unless they used oem glass with the window attachment and the plugs for it it won't work. i took mine out and actually hook it to a sharks fin and it worked great, just don't have the ***** to drill a hole in my roof.

installed the fin on mine, works great, drilling the whole was the easiest part,

sorry for the late reply. been pretty preoccupied and forgot about i even asked about this. ha. but cool ill just invest in an external antenna instead of trying to dick with the glass. it is an OEM glass though, it came out of another a4 from the local salvage yard.
