antifreeze/coolant
Gotcha - only reason I ask is that he got the car with conventional coolant in it, and is worried about being able to fully flush it out before putting in the G12. If he can safely run on the conventional stuff, he wants to do so, rather than worry about not getting it all out and creating problems with the G12 going in.
I have a 96 12v, it comes with g11 coolant (dark blue). When it warms up (and stays warm...bah) I am going to do a coolant flush and fill with g12. I saw some coolant additive stuff you are supposed to put in your old coolant to help totally flush it out before adding the g12, I forget which site so I guess its not much of a help, sorry. But I would flush the old stuff and use g12.
i dont know if you can run ANY coolant. i know universal yellow works great, i've seen the green stuff in other audi's but have never tried it myself. you just can't add any coolant if your tank is filled with g12 or you'll have problems. like cincy said, its best to just stick with g12, but if your ever in a situation where that can't happen, you can switch to a different one, just dont mix them.
ok, i just looked in here......now here is my question..... i did my fmic and when i did so i was getting a leak from my ps cooler........ well, i pulled the one time clip and it all ran out...... so i stoped in and put in some hydralic ps fluid cause that is what the a4 calls for...... so you are saying this could be bad?
should i drain it and get some audi ps fluid?
should i drain it and get some audi ps fluid?
ok, so since i just drove on it for maybe a week...... just stop by the dealership, grab a quart jack up car. unhook cooler, and let leak........ rehook and refill...... not like i need to run anything threw it do i?
