Default anybody have interior illumination issues?

not like the map lights, but the illumination on the hazard button, fog light button (both front and rear fog buttons), the heated seat selectors, the really small red lights on the sunroof/dome light controls, and my front power outlet illumination have stopped lighting up.

here is what really has me confused though:

my cluster, and all of the rest of the lights on my climate control work. i checked all of the fuses and they seem to be fine. furthermore, all of the items which the buttons go to still work. does anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

This is the same problem I'm having in the C5.

I was told the headlight switch is the culprit, I'm not sure if it would be the same for the B5 though...

If it has a separate output contact for the dash illumination I could see it. Might be worth cleaning the contacts inside the switch. I have step by step pics on the disassembly if you'd like me to post them.

OK, I did it as a separate thread which I'll move to the DIY forum a little later on after its existence becomes known. There's a link to the removal of the switch, and then I added my own step by step pics taking the internals apart. Hopefully it helps

Here's the new thread:
