Default Anyone else have problems with your radio?

This is driving me nuts. I only get static through my radio. Does anyone else have this issue or am I the only one. I have the Concert stock radio and no tints.

Thanks for the help.

There were a couple other posts on here not long ago I thought about this issue idk if someone answered it. Ive got tints but my reception is fine... maybe the antenna connection is loose at the back? Thats where I would start.

Could be a problem with the antenna (its somewhere on the back windshield). If you search google about it theres a few threads about it but I couldnt really find much. There was a thread about an 03 where they had to replace the control unit for it near the windshield but thats all I really saw. You could get an aftermarket antenna.

I've searched and searched on the one. I know in the newer A4s I think B6 there is a rubber antenna booster thing near the windshield, and if it's cracked than that could be replaced. Usually solves the problem. Not sure if my B5 has one of these.

There is a antenna booster (diversity box) in the D panel of the headliner, it's a tiny plastic box that sends the signal from rear windshield. I think I'll give it a shot. I guess I could test it somehow. I just don't know if that will fix the problem.

Another trick I heard but have not tried is if the defrost interferes with reception than clean the window with window cleaner with the exposed wires in the window while radio and defrost is on and that could solve the problem.

The thing is I really like the design of having no exposed antenna. I think it's a great design so I would like to utilize it.

I guess I'll have to be a pioneer on this one. I definitely appreciate the help Dallas if you could think of anything else please let me know. You definitely gave me some stuff to think about.

I'll definately post when I do fix the problem to help everyone else.

If anyone else has any input please reply.

I have the same problem.

I turn the radio on, and all I hear is a very slight hiss from all speakers. The volume control does nothing. I can still change radio stations, but with no effect.

It's not the radio antennae, because playing my ipod (through the cassette adapter) has the same effect.

It worked a few days ago, but my car did this really weird stop/go/stop/go thing while driving. It felt like it was running out of gas, or lugging in a really high gear at 15 mph. I pulled over, smelled a weird smell (clutch or burning wires?), waiting a few minutes, then drove off with no troubles. Well, ever since that I had no speaker sound.

The fuses under the hood driver's side look good. Any other fuses to check?

Hey, I fixed the problem with my 1996 Audi A6.

I disconnect the amp (behind the 6 CD changer by the left, rear wheel-well) and everything works. Weird.
