Hey all,

I'm new to this forum and fairly new to Audi, but not new to working on cars. I searched but didn't find much on misfires with this specific engine. Any help would be appreciated!

I have a 99 A4 2.8Q AHA 5spd pulling a Random Misfire code and on Cylinders 1,2,4, and 6.

Yes, my CTS was replaced immediately when this started happening but no luck.

Many parts were recently installed within the past 3K miles like Coil, plugs (NGKs), Magnecor KV85 wires (which are amazing!), valve cover gaskets, breather hoses and pump, +many more.. and the motor has some miles - about 140K but is in excellent condition and absolutely no leaks... yet! Lol

BTW, I burped the cooling system this morning before driving to work, and it hasn't misfired for the 20 mile drive. But this seemed normal since it doesn't misfire every single drive.

Any suggestions?

Are some new coils known to be faulty??

This specific coil was ordered from FCP Groton..

 

What brand are the coils?
Are they Chinese? If so get rid of them & replace with OEM.

 

Not sure. I believe its a Meyle..

I was looking into an aftermarket coil... would this be compatible with the stock POS?

Ok so the car hasn't misfired yet today since after bleeding air out of the coolant this morning...

..Can anyone back me up on this?
