Default Miss Behaving windows

Hi guys,
I am having a problem with my windows, it goes like this, when my car is locked, all is well, as soon as I unlock the car, it sounds as if the locks try and unlock again and then all of my windows go down, sometimes the locks seem to repeatedly activate causing the windows to move down a little at a time, the interior lights activate with the locks causing some disco lighting inside the car, when I have started the car I can put them up and you can here the locks activating but the windows remain up until I stop the car.
I have not had a chance to look at it yet, and I am a couple of months away from buying a decent Vag Cable. Sounds to me as if it is a shorting problem but has anybody else had this, and maybe know where is the best place to start looking.
Can you help Guys the winter will soon be upon us.

Thanks for the help viperpit07, was wondering when i might here back from someone, the info from your friend might be of help, but i think at this stage there is something else i need to know,
Q, will a descent VAG cable like the one from Ross-Tech help me to narrow down the problem?
I really want to buy one of these things because there is other issues with the car that i know i can identify with this cable, like the Abs for instance.
Thanks in advance.
