Default Arg - knocking in the steering

Sorry, been lurking for a while, but now finally signed up - shame on me - straight away with a problem

During the winter it actually started. Every time I turn the steering wheel to the right (not necessarily all the way) and get out of a parking place (reverse or forward) I have a knocking in the steering which seems to come mainly from the left (right steering car, so left is passanger side).

A friend who was standing outside waiting for me to get out even heard it and someone else has the feeling he felt it on the floor on the passagener side as well.

It is not just a noise, but you can feel the wheel vibrating as well as if you slider over gravel .. can't explain it.

In addition to that - it only happens when the car is cold especially when it is cold outside too and the car stand all night ..

Every time I take the car to the garage, they can't find anything, hear anything etc., always the same "nothing wrong with it".

Now I had the car in a garage for some new tyres and asked them to do the tracking. That was a year ago - and they said that the ball joints seem to starting to develop play.

Took it to another garage (which was closer) - and they said its rubbish ..

A year down the line, the knocking started so I had the ball joints changed, here the work done

(apparently there are 4 joints attached to those arms)

Now the next morning, knocking ..

I am really at a loss now - any ideas / suggestions ?

I am not an English native speaker so I will try to explain what I think is your problem. If you hear the knocking only when turning the wheel then it's the end of the "metal" that goes from the gearbox to the wheel and turns the wheels. Not the whole part, just the end, towards the wheel, we call it "head".

Don't quite get which part. If by any chance you're German, feel free to say it again as I am native German

Damn it's difficult to find the right word, but I will add 2 links to the image of the hardware:

I found the translation "planetary shaft" but I really don't know if it's correct. I am romanian, so if you have a romanian friend let me know and he will be able to translate.
I am pretty sure that this is the problem because I had some knocking a short while ago and 2 mechanics told me that if the knocking happens when the wheel is turned than this is the problem. If it was because of the wheel bearings you should hear the knocking all the time.
