Default audi buyer questions

Ok this is my first post!!!! I am considering an audi a4, 96-00 somthing around there, i want the 1.8L turbo, with the 5spdi have looked at a few and also driven a few. The ones im looking at have 80-90k miles on them, i dont know anything about audi's just what people have told me which is when they get to be that mileage its near the end of thier life. So im asking to those who have higher miles on their audi please give me some feedback, what fails? what needs replacing at a certain milage? Im not talking about simple things that go out like a power window switch, im talking about the engine componants tranny, ect..... please help! I like these cars, its just i need somthing that wont fail me for the next few years<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0">

Timing belt/tensioner needs to be replace between 60-70K. Makes sure thats done - if it breaks your engine is a doorstop (a big doorstop).

Make sure nothing in your car is broken, like for instance my cd player didnt work and the factory said it would cost 1 thousand to replace it or 600 for just the laser, luckily i got a warranty and they did it for free but it still took like like 2 weeks to fix it. Basically everything that goes wrong with an audi is gonna be a bitch to repair, its an expensive car to maintain so make sure you are under the realization that to keep an audi you have money to support it.

heh heh - Audi is reliable if you take car of things you own, brudda. Any car with an interference engine will bust when the TB breaks.<edited><editID>brrman</editID><editDate>38111.0482986111</editDate></edited>
