Default Audi overheated, wont start.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and need a little help with my 97' A4.

I was driving my A4 home from college and the temp gauge shot up through the roof. I continued driving (dumb) because i was close to home so I thought I would be able to make it. I've had an ongoing problem with this car overheating, and just kept fixing it with that cheap radiator sealant (also dumb).

Anyways, the car got so hot that it actually shut itself off, and began steaming from the engine compartment. (No white smoke was coming from the exhaust*).

I didn' try to start it, but instead got the car towed to my house. A few days later I went out and tried to start the car. It just cranks and cranks but doesn't kick or seem like it wants to start.

Any suggestions on what it could be would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I also hooked up my computer to it, and NO CODES showed.

Thanks

Sounds like you may have overheated it to the point of warping the head and losing compression. Try a compression check and see what numbers you get.
