hello, today i got a letter in the mail saying "if you lose a key, contact your authorized Audi dealer immediately to have the lost key disabled." When i bought my car (used), it came with 2 keys (both are the flip up, lock and unlock keys). I don't have the valet key or anything. does this note apply to me? is there something i should/shouldn't do with this? i just wanted to know what you guys were doing with it

 

ya i just got one today also. i don't think it applies to us. on the newer audis it does though

 

i got it too it looks like some kind of class action law suit

 

i got it also and i didnt understand any of it but my moms a lawyer and she says it was a class action lawsuit agains Audi/VW because they would not allow any business other than themselves to cut/program our keys...obviously a large number of audi/vw enthusiats felt this was unfair and in the end audi/vw gave in and said they will allow other key shops etc. will be allowed to use the technology...so now we can get our keys cut at a place who has the machine
