Does anyone know if there is a place to buy a "real" one of these? I bought one of the cheap ebay ones a while back to do the gaskets on my 2.8. Then I used it to do a friend's 1.8T and then used it again on the 4.2. Needless to say I've gotten my $ out of it and it is showing its use. The plastic has "stretch marks" for lack of a better term and I believe failure to be imminent.

It has proven most useful and would like to purchase a better version. I have trouble believing that they use the same cheap plastic version at a dealership. I'm hoping that someone can steer me in the direction of a nice aluminum version, if such an item exists.

 

I recommend you take out your measuring tools and create your own.

I was going to buy one but then I figured I have a bunch of scrap metal laying around and besides I like welding so I welded it to exact spec.

I understand where you are coming from though.
