Default Auto Tip Transmission Fluid

hi there,

I tried searching for this but to no available. Its long weekend in canada, and i just found out my transmission is low on fluid i guess the drain plug was leaking a bit over a long time. The belly pan must have soaked it all it up because the garage floor is clean.

Question is i can't find any pentosin atf for the tip tranny, the dealership is giving me the run around, i called a few places and they are saying Royal Purple ATF MAX is equivalent. Can someone tell me if this fluid would work, cuz i need some fluid badly i thought i was loosing another wheel bearing but it was actually the tranny whinning a little bit so i need to put something in there fast. I can't ship anything for days because the long weekend.

Royal Purple ATF MAX?
And How much?
Yes i know its hard to do i have a mechanic that has vag and a lift.
Please help ASAP i have to be at the mechanics in a bout 1.3 hours time or he won't have time for me until next weekend.

thanks to everyone in advance.

Not sure if the fluid will work long term. I use Audi OEM fluid which the dealer should have.

To top it up, the tranny needs to be slightly warm, approximately what your will get by driving around the block twice. Lift should be level. Fill it up until it overflows and that is the correct amount.

Well i changed the oil, did it for the first time after 160.000 Kilometers. Oil was pure black, but the magnets and everything were clean from shavings so i guess its in good shape. Results were great, transmission feels a lot smoother and the car is much more responsive almost the same thrill of driving like it was after chipping the car.

Just wanted to compare the fluid amounts, i opened up about 5 quarts probably spilled .5-1 quart with the pump. So i would say roughly only 4 litres went in before leaking out, i tried twice to make sure it was overflow. The amount going in was approximately how much came out(a milk gallon was filled).

Also i know a lot of people use OEM i would have but with the long weekend and bad planning I went with Royal Purple Max ATF Multi-Spec High Performance Formula. Supposed to be okay to mix so if you dont get it all out its okay.

Heres the link for the people intereted

From my research i found that the http://image.autopartsonlinecanada.c...1148466OEA.JPG esso brand is the orginal factory oil that comes in the sealed transmissions which is the LT71141, both websites i have included say that this is equivalent.

Also for the people who may think i messed up my transmission which i could have, i'll keep everyone upto date on any damages or rebuilds in my future.
