Default Axle bolts fell out??

I don't comprehend how this could happen... was driving smoothly down the road, hit a small bump or two going slowly through an intersection and then heard some nice grinding sounds.

Pulled over to see the rear left axle came off the diff somehow, and picked up all 6 bolts off the road. None of the bolts were broken or stripped, one was bent. They still thread into the flange, its not stripped out.

How could all 6 bolts come out at the same time like this?

Most likely they weren't installed properly, bolt retainers left out or bolts not torqued to spec. Could also be that the wrong wrench was used like an allen key in place of the german 12 point type. The allen key seems to fit properly, but when high torque is applies it strips the inside of the bolt head.

They were likely not torque properly. Replace all the bolts and torque them. Make sure the threads are free of grease before install

The boot on that CV joint looks pretty strange...like it's all twisted up. Is that OK?

If the axle is still good you might able to get away with just replacing the bolts and the boot. We have repair kits below.
