Thumbs up b5 a4 cat back exhaust system but which one is best

i have a 1999 a4 1.8t quattro tip tronic trans

so ive been looking for an exhaust system to buy for next summer but am having trouble deciding which one
at first i wanted the borla exhaust b/c i didn't know of any others at the time cept magnaflow
now i have done some research and really like the sound from the Remus racing but they only make it for 2.7t i think?

neuspeed has a 2.75 in cat back but its only for manual trans and am not sure if they have one for auto trans.

any tips? im looking for something with a deep tone but not to crazy but with a roar when needed

Get a downpipe/testpipe and a muffler of your choice. Have the piping fabricated. Performance will be essentially the sane and the cost will be quite a bit less.

any info on apexi N-1 or HKS Carbon Ti or HKS Hi Power exhausts only??
thinking about getting a 5 foot straight pipe from borla (3" piping)
and adding one of those exhausts to it??
have only seen or able to hear one audi with the HKS on YOUTUBE and it sounded clean

or what would be a good choice?
wish it were manual then i would go all out but since it isn't i've decided to cut back on the money that is meant for the purchase of the exhaust system by 60% lol
only planing to get the GIAC tip chip and APR ecu chip upgrade
so ill need a better flowing exhaust but dont want to spend to much in case i trade it in for a 6speed 225 tt

Have the piping made, fit the muffler you like. If you like the sound and look of those systems, go for it. You should do a search of YouTube and listen to the various Magnaflow, Remus, and Milltek systems too though. They are very deep and smooth, really ballsy sounding.

I've been pricing out exhausts for quite a while now, and I gotta say custom is the way to go. If its not a show car, there's no reason for a fully polished $1200 cat back. 2.5-2.75 is plenty unless you're gonna run a huge turbo.

borla is great, made of all 304 stainless NEVER rusts, there are cheaper systems using cheaper materials, magnaflow uses 409 stainless, it rusts but not supposed to rust thru, after that aluminized or even ceramic coated mild steel will not last, unless you expect to trade in a couple of years, my techtonics tuning borla system just pulled apart after 10 yrs of service, 199xxx miles in pa winters hats 304 stainless, pay more now or pay twice for junk metal!!

I agree with Jeremy. Get custom piping; my buddy got a full race exhaust for his Focus and the guys on here that heard will agree it sounded mean. He got his full exhaust, brand new, custom made, for $400 out the door I think. My problem with a lot of the kit exhausts is that to me, they sound pretty much the same. Don't read me wrong, they sound good but with a full custom system you can tweak it a little more to your liking.

Here's the company my buddy used: Mandrel Exhaust Systems - Featuring Mandrel Bends - Catback, Downpipe I didn't see anything specifically for Audi but get in contact with them and they might rig something up for you.

cool thanks for the imput yeah im deffinitley gona go for custom piping but the exhaust wont know till i decide on a few other things.
due to that i pulled the plug on swapping my tiptronic for a 6spd im trying to spend the least amount (sorta lol) but still have a sweet tiptronic

im interested in the APR chip, any input?
and the GIAC tipchip

would it be better to go with the K&N drop in filter ($50) or HKS Super Mega Flow Filter ($220-240) any significant changes or not really and go with the K&N??
