I've got a buddy offering to sell me a W8, 6 spd trans and driveshaft with full harness and ECU. My question here is does anyone have experience with the w8 and do you have any advice, concerns, comments, blah blah blah etc. that I should be concerned about. Particularly any issues you think might arise with the swap itself. i.e. motor mounts, crossmember or subframe clearance and the like. TIA

 

My lease is up in about a year and there's something about VW's older offerings that I find interesting. I don't know quite what it is. I like my car and I think VW have put out some great vehicles in the past few years, even with the TDI scandal, but they lack that certain je ne sais quois of the older vehicles. Where are the insane 8 cylinder engines and W12 halo cars? Relegated to the realm Kodi nox of the hedge fund managers buying new Audis?
